UX Product Designer
Hi there! I am currently an Experience Architecture student at Michigan State University. I am looking to use my knowledge in user experience to get into user-centered product design after my graduation in 2025.
I am also pursuing a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. I am passionate about working toward a cleaner and healthier world for all of us. Small design changes can have a monumental environmental impact, especially for large companies where goods are being mass-produced every day. Understanding this, I want to ensure when I am a designer at a large company that I have the knowledge necessary to make sure my team and I are making the right decisions for the future of our world.
Transfer Success
My high school and early college experiences were geared towards a future in STEM. I took coding classes through high school, and my first year of college I was in an engineering program at Purdue University. While I did great at Purdue with my classes and grades, I quickly realized that I require a more artistic outlet in my work and turned towards UX design. I made the move to Michigan and became a transfer student at Michigan State University.
Study Abroad
After completing my first year of study at MSU, I took part in a learning abroad opportunity. Guided by Dr. Igor Vojnovic, a group of 30 MSU students, faculty and I spent just over a month in Italy's capital and largest city, Rome. During my time there I studied urban design and the history of the development of cities across the globe. Outside of the classroom, I gained a new and broader perspective of the world and my place within it.
Work Experience
While in school, I have taken up a variety of work opportunities. I have worked as technical support in an office setting. There, I looked over company-issued technology and was tasked with projects such as a company-wide phone reset. Additionally, I worked in retail where I worked closely with management and learned a great deal about marketing and optimizing customer-perceived value. Most recently, I worked in food service at a restaurant and catering company where I followed strict cleanliness guidelines and high quality food standards.
